Edge beta for Android updated with new icon ahead of Chromium Edge for desktop launch

Written By Gabriel Socion Saturday, February 19, 2022 Add Comment Edit

The Microsoft Edge Beta for Android has been updated today with a new icon that matches the icon introduced with the new version of Chromium Border for desktop, ahead of its official launch on January 15. The new icon is something mobile users take been asking for since November, and Microsoft promised it would evidence up on mobile around the same time the new Edge launches on desktop officially.

Edge for Android is already based on Chromium, but Microsoft has been working on an updated design to match the version of Edge on desktop which features a customizable Control Middle, and more. The new UI is only a minor refresh for the mobile app, only it's prissy to see and brings the browser in line with the competition.

The mobile version of Border too now includes the power to sync passwords, favorites, and more to the new version of Edge instead of the old one, still that behavior appears to be off by default for now. I assume this will be the default beliefs one time the new Edge launches official on desktop in simply a couple of weeks.

For now, are you using Microsoft Edge on Android, and are you lot excited for the new version of Edge on desktop? Let us know in the comments.
